Thomas A. Edison and Heinrich R. Hertz became gods in Kyoto

I was in Kyoto to visit my father & mother in law.
Father took me to Horinji-Temple located in Arashiyama area west of Kyoto city.

The temple is quite near to the south end of Togetsukyo-bridge.

The temple has daughter shrine called Dendengu.

 I found  reliefs of  two electric giants; Edsion and Hertz.

I am rich!

Since some years ago, gorgeous plants are prevailing in my garden.

The plant's name is "Koban-so" .

Its seed looks like a old Japanese money, used until more than a century ago.

About a quarter century ago, I imported seeds of "Money Plant" from USA.

Unfortunately, it was extinguished in a few years.

Many many Kobans are hanging in my garden!

JSAE Spring Conference

Today, I attended the JSAE(Japanese Society of Automotive Engineers) spring conference　being held until tomorrow at Pacifico Yokohama exhibition Hall in Japan.

Automotive exhibition is also there.

At Subaru booth, I found new Eyesight and stereo camera.

Stereo camera is an essential component of the system.

It detects various kind of road obstacles including vehicle and pedestrians.

This feature enables the world first collision avoidance function.

Conventional radar system is sometimes hard to detect a stationary (from the beginning) object

which should really be a "obstacle". For instance, you need not apply brakes against a small can on a road. But the radar system detect it but is not always able to recognize its size.

So, I expect the stereo system will be a major sensor for driver assistance system.

This is my car; Subaru OUTBACK 2.5 XT, powerful and convenient!

I got it 2 years ago.

It is especially convenient when I go to hiking or mountaineering.

Thanks to relatively high minimum hight, I can go anywhere.

Besides those features, it is equipped with "Secret Weapon";Eyesught.

When I am tired with driving on my way back from mountaineering, it automatically

drive itself. When I am going out of the lane, it warns.

I am living in Ibaraki, Japan which is located 100 km NE of Tokyo, with my wife and a cat.

She is a black cat named Bibian, about ten years old.
